Bead Street Classes

Wire Classes are a hit at Bead Street.  Lots of thanks to Beth for all her work in doing inventory, ordering wire and metal working products, reorganizing and stocking the wire wall and providing fabulous, fabulous samples for potential new classes at the store.  From all her efforts, wire classes have been a big success - so big, she had to schedule two classes on Saturday, February 28th.  Congratulations Beth and a big thank you for all your hard work.

Due to other commitments, she will not be teaching the next two Saturdays.  So, she will be teaching her Flower Garden Bracelet at 2:00 this Friday the 13th ( that's two Friday the 13ths in a row...)   But stay tuned - more wonderful new projects in the planning stages.

Also on Friday at 2:00, Sandy is teaching a repeat of a Vezsuzsi pattern - two seats left for this one if you can make it during the week.

You can use the components in a bracelet -
or just use one as a pendant.

And here is a photo of Beth's class if you can't find it in the class schedule under the Classes heading.  You can bring your own beads or purchase kits in teals, pinks and (I think) purples. Two seats still available here also. For more information, call Beth on  Wednesday, 336-9707

This is a great beginner class and a fun way to find out if you like working with wire.  And this will also give you experience needed to transition into the new wire and metalworking classes coming soon.

Netted Wire Cabachon

Saturday, September 15th,  was the last class held at Bead Street's Cole and Ustick location.  Penny had the honors and a packed house for her Netted Wire Cabochon class.

Penny's samples using stone cabochons, crystals, smaller
semi-precious gemstones and Japanese seed beads.
.

This is an intermediate/advanced class
and Penny (and her husband)
traveled from Twin Falls to Boise to teach.

A work in progress but Chris had a great start.

Dale used two metallic colors of seed beads
 which also looked fabulous.

Sue made great progress as well.

Everyone was working so intently -
they were really concentrating.
These also have semi-precious faceted gemstones
surrounding the stone cabochons.
Always entertaining, Joy had to bring a different
 Show-N-Tell project.
Here are her freshly dug potatoes.

Some gals wanted to do a little more work with their projects so more photos coming soon.  Because it was our last weekend at Cole and Ustick - we were very, very busy and I did not have a chance to watch what the gals were doing.   If the caption under the photo is incorrect,  please let me know.  Thanks Penny, for another great class.

Netted Wire Earrings

Saturday a workshop was held at Bead Street with a very talented jewelry designer from Twin Falls, Idaho.  Penny Dixon of Penelope Designs, conducted a Netted Wire Earring class. Students were excited and also challenged - many of these gals have not done any wire before today. But they were also very excited about learning a new technique, and had great results as seen here.  More workshops with Penny will be coming to Bead Street in the new year.

These are Pennys' and this is what the earrings are supposed to look like

Claudia used Sterling and pearls.  Pretty good match, huh.

Lucy used crystals - beautiful colors - much prettier than this photo shows

This belongs to our 14 year old Irene - who has no experience in wire.
She made three of these in the same time everyone made one.
Incredible talent for this young lady.
Instructor Penny was even inspired by her work.
 Way to go Irene!
These belong to Joy.  Again absolutely no experience with wire -
she didn't even know what some of the wire tools were.
Great work for a first project and my favorite colors - teal and matt raku

Is Joy excited about completing her project, or is she about to lose a finger?
  I don't remember...
