Swarovski Rivoli's, CzechMate QuadraTile and Kheops - Oh My!

More new beads have arrived, more coming, Tucson Gem Show next week and new classes for this month.  Whew - Makes me tired just thinking about it all.

New beads that have already arrived - Swarovski Rivoli's - 12mm, 14mm 16mm, and 18mm, more 12mm Pyramids, more Piggy beads, and 2mm Czech Pearls.  But the exciting news is the new  CzechMates Quadratile and 2 hole Bar to be introduced next week at Tucson.  And coming in a few days - Kheop beads - Sandy has been sitting on a couple of patterns waiting for these - so we are all excited to see them.

New class this Saturday - Tulsa bracelet using the new Half Tilas just in.  A couple of seats still available for this one.

Tomorrow - Thursday at 2:00, Sue is teaching Just Rollin' Along.  Kits are available for those of you uncertain about combining colors.  A beautiful, beautiful fuchsia  available - just in time for Valentine's Day.  Space still available

And don't forget Beth's Metal Coloring Class this Saturday, at 1:00 - just a reminder for those of you anxiously waiting for this. We have metal discs and shapes available and Beth is providing all coloring supplies for the class.  Bring  pliers, earwires, beads - whatever you need to finish off the project.  Of course - we have beads and supplies available if you need them.

And here is a photo of some of the classes we have planned for February.  Check out our display case to see these up close and personal.  Sign up early - seems like our new classes always fill up before we even get them posted.

We also just got word of more new beads being introduced. The  Tango (a triangle with 2 holes in different places than either the CzechMates or Kheops), the One Bead - an oval washer and the Quad bead - a flat square washer with hole in center.  It's getting difficult trying to keep up with all of this. But, if anyone is interested in any of these new beads - just let us know.

New Piggy beads, Pipps, Pyramids, Half Tilas and More

Lots and lots of new beads in recently - and already tubed, labeled and out on the floor.  Piggy beads, Pipps, Half Tilas, Tri-beads, Dragon Scale, Two-hole Pyramids 8mm and 12mm, and lots of fabulous new pastel O-Beads.  Many of you have asked for these - hopefully we have enough inventory for all your projects.  And  more new beads arriving next week.  Feels just like Christmas opening the boxes. Sandy is so excited that she can now teach some of her new classes that require these beads.

This Saturday she is teaching a bracelet pattern using the 12mm Pyramid beads - a couple of seats are still available.

Beth is also teaching  Saturday at 1:00 - a new Freeform Wire Charm bracelet using copper wire and gemstones. This class is for those comfortable with wire wrapping.  Call Beth Friday with any questions about the difficulty of this project 336-9707.

And per special request, Sue is teaching Eiffel Tower/Along the Seine on Saturday at 2:00.

Next Saturday, Beth is teaching  her Metal Coloring Earring project.  Due to a scheduling conflict - we have moved this class from February to January 31st.  If you have signed up for this class and this date doesn't work for you - let us know - we'll get you into the next one.

Bead Street News

Have you seen the February/March issue of Bead Work Magazine? Penny Dixon has been named Designer of the Year.  Congratulations Penny!  And see her newest project, Secret Garden Bracelet on page 32 in this issue.  Penny is Bead Street's third instructor to be published in a national magazine -  how great is that!  Didn't I tell you we have the best instructors.

And our instructors have another great week planned.  Three classes again - two beading and a wire class.  This is from one of the TrendSetters, Anna Lindell, called Zipper Bracelet using CzechMates two hole triangles.  Sue is teaching this great beginner/intermediate class starting at 2:00.  Note the time change for this class.  For those of you who have signed up - if this causes a problem - let us know.

Sandy is teaching a repeat of Whistle Stop bracelet designed by Marcia Balonis, also Saturday starting at 1:00.  Space is still available for this one.

And Beth is teaching a beginning wire wrap bracelet using lampwork beads and pearls.  Kits will be available as well as our Flower Garden kits or bring your own beads.  Starting at l:00 as well - bring needle nose pliers, round nose pliers and wire cutters for this class - if you have them.  If not, we have those you can borrow.  Sounds like another fun day.

A couple of seats available for this class.  Call if you would like to attend.  Or if you have questions, you can call Beth on Friday, 336-9707.

Bead Street Classes- January 2015

Sandy, Beth and Sue are teaching some fabulous new classes this month. Some of them are so fabulous - they are already filled.  Many students who attended last weekend's classes actually 'voted' and then signed up for the classes.

By special request, Sue is teaching Loopy Lentil this Thursday, January 8th to a fun-loving, adventurous group of ladies.  We teach many classes by request - let us know if you have a project in mind.

Saturday, January 10th, Beth is teaching  another "Get Twisted Wire Work' class called Freeform Metal Earrings.  We had originally scheduled this for later in the month - but the gals all wanted to do this now.

This is an introductory class in metalsmithing.  Students will explore metal fabrication with die cutting, sanding, texturing and doming techniques. There should be enough time to make two or more one-of-a-kind earrings.

Beth has such a great eye for design.  This is going to be so much fun.

We will schedule this class again soon.  If you would like to participate give us a call.  We would also be very happy to put you on a waiting list  in case we have a cancellation.

Sandy is also teaching a wonderful pendant class this Saturday using Swarovski Rivoli's and Czech Pinch beads.  For those of you who signed up - see you at 1:00.  We have had one cancellation - if anyone interested.

If you would like to learn a new technique - stop in and check out our display case of beautiful bead work projects.  Or just stop in for inspiration.  This is a great time of year to cuddle up with a hot  drink and some beads.  Hope to see you soon!

Happy New Year 2015!

Hope all of you had a safe New Year's eve.   Here's wishing you a healthy, prosperous and creative New Year.

2014 was a great year at Bead Street with lots of exciting new classes, lots of new students in those classes and some beautiful, beautiful jewelry created. Can't wait to see what's planned for 2015.

This Saturday at 1:00, Beth is kicking off the year with a spectacular 'Get Twisted Wire Work' project.  Called Cascading Leaves - looks very similar to fireworks doesn't it?  We have a few spaces available.   If you would like to attend, let her know Friday, January 2nd,  336-9707

Cascading Leaves Wire class

Beth designed this as a free form wire charm that can be added to your wire working arsenal.  You'll learn how to make single and double leaf charms and put them together into a pair of cascading earrings.

With a variety of color choices available, the color combinations are endless! And after you finish this class, use your imagination on how to use the charms in other projects - maybe even some beading projects.

Sandy is also teaching a great new bracelet class Saturday.  For those of you who have already signed up - see you at 1:00 as well.  Looks like another busy day and we are all excited to see everyone and hopefully see what you have beaded over the holidays.
